Spreading Christmas Cheer!

It's December first, so it's time to start my round of Christmas posts!! Happy Holidays everyone!

Last Christmas was the first Christmas my partner and I spent together in our new place and I needed some decorations! What is the holiday season without stockings and a tree? I had a tree that was given to me by my parents, but I was looking for some stockings. I knew I wanted to make them actually, because then I could continue to reuse them and love them for years to come.

"The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In the hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there"

I used a template for the stockings, and cut out 16 sides (enough to make a lining too). I was really afraid that I would end up cutting the shape wrong and have the wrong sides together in order to make the shape, but some how I figured it out without too many tears :) I decided at the last minute to line the stockings, so things weren't perfectly sewn together. But hey, these look pretty darn festive and I love them!
I thought the blue would be enough to stand out
but I really should've used white on my partner's stocking.

I loved this fabric! It's just too cute, and I loved the embellishments
I found in my drawer, they coordinated so well.

This stocking is for one of our dogs, which are pretty much our kiddos :)
they get Christmas treats just like we do!

Here is our other dog's stocking. I have to wait to put her items out until the last minute
because she is tall enough to get into things and kept sniffing everything! Silly pup.

Making stockings was a very successful endeavor and I just love how the look in my house. My next goal is to make a wooden plaque to hang above the fireplace so I don't have to use command hooks.
