One of the projects I set out to complete this year was making quillows for my partners nieces. I started this project at the beginning of the year, and put it off exactly like I said I wouldn't do in my original
blog post.
But the good news is I've finished one of these blankets, and I have two more that only need minimal work! Hallelujah!
This particular blanket was one of my favorites. I've always had an obsession with butterflies and I cannot get enough of these wonderful colors! I reverse engineered this block from an image I found on pinterest, starting with a 1.5 inch square in the middle of each log cabin. I think another reason why I love this block is because of the simplicity of the block, but also because I actually proved to myself that I could do the math and ya know what, it wasn't that hard!

here was the initial image... and no pattern! sigh...
of course I fall in love with the block that I can't find a pattern for... |
But I could not be happier with what I ended up with! |
This was tetris game for the afternoon of
"how many blankets can I fit onto one king sized batting form" |
getting ready to sew the "pocket" or pillow form onto the blanket! |
Another view to help show what I saw |
AND... The finished product! So freakin' cute! I'll post more pictures when the girls open them in December.
this pattern is so fun! |
a nice flannel blanket with an almost hidden pocket for tosies! |
This wasn't flannel so it served as the outside of the blanket |
This one is by far one of my favorite color combinations |
