Pie Making Day & One Room School House Quilt: The Beginnings

One day as I was perusing the internet, I came across Brenda Ratliff's fabric collection, Pie Making Day. Once I decided that I was in fact, going to splurge a little on buying the collection, I knew I had to figure out something awesome and completely wonderful to make with it.

Well unfortunately the collection is still sitting pretty on my desk, waiting to be used. I had decided that this Christmas was the year that the three youngest of my partner's nine nieces were getting blankets. I decided to only do quillows, but it has still taken me a lot of time, money and design effort to make something for them that I'm proud of. So my dream quilt has been put on pause.

Since the time that I bought my collection of Pie Making Day, Brenda has created another collection, One Room Schoolhouse. I absolutely love her color choice (bright! I love the bright colors and always have), and the prints are so beautiful as well.

And THEN I found out that these two collections were designed to work together!

So next on my "to be purchased" list is the other half of the collection to make into a wonderful quilt!! I so cannot wait to begin working on this during 2017. Hopefully by Thanksgiving or Christmas time 2017 I'll have a wonderful quilt to show off.

I wrote the above part two weeks ago, and on Halloween I found the fabric collection on sale! I am now the happy owner of both collections and I've been dreaming about what my quilt will look like now!

I absolutely love these wonderful colors!
I think a pattern like this would showcase each color so well!
