Supply list: (Images to follow in order)
Hat shaped wreath form
pipe cleaners
black decomesh
witches legs--found pre-made at michael's but you could make them yourself if you wanted
"quit your witchin'" sign
Orange wire ribbon
spider clip (which I haven't added yet)
My first step was to connect the legs to the wreath form. I ended up cutting the little skirt material so that way I could slip the legs in the form without any major issues. I used pipe cleaners to secure the legs.
Legs connected in the middle only |
Somewhere in between the last step (above) and the finished project, I missed taking pictures of some steps. So I'll just have to describe what I did. I started weaving the decomesh on the top right side of the hat brim and then made my way around to the left side. I connected the decomesh with pipe cleaners every few inches. The idea is to make it messy looking, the bigger & fuller, the better!
Once I made it around the brim of the hat, I wove the decomesh up the base of the hat back and forth, securing at each point where I wanted to turn. This process took me the longest time, but the whole wreath only took about an hour to complete. Finally, I cut sections of the ribbon that would fit just over the brim and secured them on the back with pipe cleaners. The quit your witchin' sign had a metal loop which I also used to secure to the wreath with pipe cleaners. I plan to add the spider, but I need to spray paint it since the black does not show against the black decomesh (I'm thinking some orange or silver sparkles).
Ain't "she" a beaut! I so love this funky wreath!
I believe I'm the reason for no in between pics 😂
