Back in 2009, my mom finally got a new sewing machine and passed her well loved singer down to me. This sewing machine is one of the machines I first learned on and the only machine I still use today. One of these days I will probably invest in a new one, but this bad boy never seems to falter. It may not have as many cool stitches as a new machine (hey it still has a pretty good selection for a 30+ year old machine), but when mom's is out of order every so often I keep chugging along with old faithful.
Something that I have been meaning to do for a while and particularly since I have my own place/space for my sewing machine is make a cover. Although I'm definitely guilty of not cleaning this machine out as much as I should, I want to protect it from any excess dust (and all the dog hair... I mean fibers of love) that had been building up around it lately. I picked out the fabric from my stash months ago but the project got lost in the "to be completed pile" until last week on my stay-cation!

And here is the final project! |
I was hoping for a little more coordination with the colors already in my room, but none the less I am loving it! Simple, functional and totally my style. I also got a little moral support to finish this project from my trusty guard dog of course... who I found asleep at my feet once I finally got finished :)
