Couch Covers

When my partner and I moved into our new place last year, we were offered free couches from my Aunt and Uncle and I jumped on the opportunity. Both of us don't exactly have wonderful salaries to work with and we needed somewhere to sit! My only problem with these couches was the material. Old nineties, clearly well warn fabric... the cushions are in good shape and the couch is really comfy but man-o-man where they an eye sore. I covered them up with old sheets for a long time, and then I decided I needed to make a couch cover.
Here is the big couch as the final pieces were getting put together.

The finished project! Not perfect, but much better than my sheets and easy to take off and clean.

I really didn't use a pattern, because with creating a cover for something you generally use the object and gather at places where there is too much fabric. Not bad for my first attempt! I know what to do for my next cover project... the love seat!
