I Can't Get Enough Wreaths

As a new renter, I love to decorate! I've never had this much space to call my own... well at least to share between my partner and our dogs, but I get to chose the decorations and how it looks!! Wreaths are so simple and wonderful. Easy to make and take down when the time comes to move out and on to our next adventure.

My first test of my wreath making skills was this project:

I had seen wreaths like this all over Pinterest and I needed (haha) something festive to liven up my door and show support for my LEO partner! Absolutely loved this simple project. Here's the tutorial I followed. All you do for this wreath is cut the decomesh where it naturally loops over, gather it in the middle, and then attach it to the metal wreath form. Super easy.

After I made my first wreath, I knew that I could do anything! How simple these were! After Christmas was over, I raided my local craft stores. I found the pre-lit evergreen wreath for $10 and picked up coordinating decorations for around $20-25 total (ribbon is so dang expensive... event when it's on sale!). I made sure to get plastic/foam ornaments since my last wreath has blown off on occasion as well. Quite simply, all I did was attach each of these items with pipe cleaners to the pre-made evergreen wreath I bought. For the ribbon, I cut enough so that it would go around my hand (enough to make a pretty loop). Then I gathered it and added a pipe cleaner so I could attach it to the wreath. Everything was bought or pre-made, even the ornaments with wire on them came like that. So it only took about two hours to make and most of that time was the perfectionist in me moving everything around multiple times and then consulting my sister and then moving things around again.

Overall I am SO happy with the results! My place will be so festive for Christmas 2016.

I think it is about time for my third adventure in wreath making, but I haven't quite decided on what I want to make. I'm thinking about something festive for the summer months.
